Fast Home Remedies To Heal Corns On Your Feet

Corns on feet are a common yet uncomfortable condition of the skin resulting from too much pressure applied on the skin. Because of walking and wearing shoes, the feet are more prone to developing corns than any other part of the body. One solution that helps when treating the corns fast is a home-made recipe of tea tree oil and alcohol-free Goldenseal extract. The mixture is applied on the affected area every time it is necessary. The tincture prevents infection and helps the healing process. Combine the use of tincture with the use of Epsom salts compresses, and it will soften the dead skin which makes for easy filing down with a pumice stone. Warm water is another solution, that is simple and effective if the callused skin is not too bad. Introduce your feet in warm water for about 20-30 minutes every evening. This will help the corn soften and facilitate it coming off naturally. If warm water is not enough, try applying the peel of a lemon on the corn and let it work overnight. Repeat the procedure for three consecutive nights. You will notice how the corns will come off on their own. Another useful remedy is apple cider vinegar. Use a cloth to soak the vinegar and apply it on the foot. Leave the cloth there for the rest of the day. The corn will come off by its root.

Keep your feet as clean as possible and try to avoid wearing shoes indoors. Let your feet breathe as much as possible. Sometimes corns tend to reappear in spite all attempts to remove them. If this is also your case, the most effective thing to do is visit a podiatrist to find out what the underlying cause is. You may need orthotic insoles to help distribute your weight more evenly. If you are suffering from diabetes, then you know that in your case treating corns by yourself is not a good idea. Diabetics heal more lowly due to circulation problems and complications can arise all too easily. Unwanted infections can take hold and the wound wont close naturally. It is not recommended to use acid preparations or alcohol-based tinctures, these can do terrible damage to a diabetic.

Papaya juice, the milky juice of green figs, sesame oil and baking soda with water are all alternative solutions to treating corns on feet. What you need to do is decide which of these recipes best suits you and what you have in your cupboards. Corns on feet are very similar to foot calluses and can often be mistaken for them. The main difference between corns and foot calluses is that a corn, or clavus, is a spherically shaped callus of dead skin. Feet calluses are not harmful but can lead to skin ulceration or infection if not treated properly. They tend to be flatter and more expansive. Corns on feet tend to appear mostly when you have hammertoes, due to the strange hammer shape of the toes that forces them to stand in a bent position and rub against shoes. Hammertoes result from excessive wearing of high heels or shoes that are too narrow or too short for the foot. If the wearing of uncomfortable footwear continues after the development of a hammertoe, corns can easily appear on the toes. Corns on feet can be very uncomfortable and are always unaesthetic. They make the foot look untidy and the sight of corns is not quite a pleasant one to see. Luckily, there are numerous home-made remedies to help you get rid of them.
