With that in mind, why would a Christian want to start a home based business? Doesn't our desire for more money betray the evil in our hearts if we want to work at home? Heavens, No! While St.
Paul warns us that money can become a temptation to us, he doesn't teach us that we shouldn't have any.
Or that we shouldn't desire more.
After all, if you're a tithing Christian, as my wife and I are, every increase in income turns into a blessing for our church and it ministries.
making more means giving more.
And giving more of our treasure here means more treasure in heaven, too! With that in mind, working from home becomes a Godly thing to do, not an evil one.
Your home based business can (and should) bring glory to God as He blesses you.
After all, the wealth of the wicked is laid up for the just, King Solomon says, and, "Blessed is the man who leaveth an inheritance to his childrens' children.
" That's a lot of money! So what does a Christian look for in a home business? Whether you want to make and sell something, or get into an informational business online, or sell someone else's product, it only makes sense for a Christian Home based Business Opportunity to be grounded in Biblical principles of business.
Starting a Christian work at home business is like starting a regular small business.
It requires effort: "Seest thou a man who is diligent in his business? He will not be found among poor men.
" It takes money.
God has given us all a certain amount, and He does expect us to make more.
Just like the parable of the Lord and his three servants.
Some are given 5 talents of gold, some are given 2 talents of gold while some are only given 1.
It really doesn't matter how many you're given, God expects you to do the best with what you have and make it grow.
Because then you can give more to His Kingdom work.
Along with that same parable, we learn that a work at home job takes time.
That master went on a long journey.
And the servants had time to double their money that he left them.
if you are going to start in a home based business, you've got to plan time to work it, and give time for it to grow.
Don't quit! Christian work at home business opportunities should also have some good characteristics of their own.
While there are plenty of people who work from home selling drugs or pornography, or gambling schemes, these certainly are not Christian and no matter how much money you make,it would take a lot of nerve to bring any of it to the Church offering plate! So a Christian business opportunity must be moral, ethical, upright, honest.
if it encourages you to lie, or take advantage of your customers or clients, it will be very short lived.
you maybe able to accumulate a few bucks, but it will only bring you ruin and frustration in the end.
The flip side of that is that it should in some way be a service to your customers or clients.
Jesus taught us that to be the greatest in the Kingdom, meant we had to be the servant of all.
I firmly believe that also applies to the world of business.
In my business, we show people how to make more money by enriching others.
Again, I believe the Biblical principle that teaches, that we reap what we sow.
If I help others find the level of income they want or need, it will certainly flow back to me.
I have God's promise on that.
So I never fear it will fail.
So look for a work at home opportunity that serves others.
Again, when you help others get what they want, you will certainly get what you want in return.

Nothing reflects more poorly on a good testimony than that.
