Jamie Stevenson, a British skier, is attempting to set a new Guinness World Record by skiing in 20 different countries in March.
The world record attempt is being made to help raise enough money for Disability Snowsport UK, which is a charity that helps get people with disabilities on the slopes to enjoy skiing and snowboarding, to buy a sit ski.
The world record attempt will see Mr Stevenson travel over 6,500 miles and visit 20 countries in just 31 days.
In order to surpass the current world record, the British skier will need to ski in 15 different countries throughout March.
The criteria for the world record attempt means that Jamie Stevenson must ski a full run in each country and that the run at the ski resort must be officially open.
This means that he will be relying on resorts to be open upon his arrival and for those resorts to have a good level of snow cover.
'Confident' Speaking ahead of his trip, Stevenson said that he was confident of achieving his goal and becoming a new world record holder.
He said, "It's all pretty much down to me being organised and having contingency plans in place.
I'm really confident I'm going to do all 20.
" The mammoth solo trip will take the skier through traditional skiing countries destinations such as France, Switzerland and Austria, as well as lesser-known spots like Croatia, Hungary and Poland.
The British skier will travel to each destination via car and he has attempted to note down all possible problems that could be potentially encountered during his trip, from mechanical failures to too much snow causing mountain passes to be closed.
Mr Stevenson has conducted months and months of planning and preparation and has taken advice from friends and families who have skied at the resorts that are included in his bucket list, as well as from professional skiers such as Andrew Noble, a former Team GB ski racer.
Despite just having to complete one run in each country he visits, Stevenson has planned to ski from the highest point of every resort, which will mean him skiing from the very top of the Grand Montets in Chamonix, France.
He initially planned to begin his journey at Aviemore in Scotland and to end his travels in Norway at the end of March but his plans had to be changed slightly and so far the Brit is on the sixth day of his trip and has so far skied in resorts in Spain, Andorra, France, Italy and Switzerland.
