- 1). Wear one color. Black is a slimming color and rarely looks poorly on anyone. Pinks, reds and plums give you a youthful and more favorable look as well, but tend to be unflattering. Stick with cool colors for a more slender look.
- 2). Stay away from light colors and prints. Avoid horizontal stripes. Don't wear sweatpants and pants with elastic. They won't flatter your shape.
- 3). Choose vertical lines and darker colors. Choose the right sizes of clothing. Don't squeeze yourself into something tight, as it rarely ever looks attractive.
- 4). Splurge for better quality clothes. Higher quality clothing uses better fabrics and offers the most flattering cut for all body types. Cheaper fabric is stiffer on the body and doesn't enhance the shape.
- 5). Use the right accessories. If you have a full-figured face or double chin, choose longer necklaces. If you have a bit of a tummy, don't wear big belts that will draw attention to that.
- 6). Wear heels. Flats are not an ideal way to look slimmer, even though they are more comfortable. Medium to high heels are the best way to make your legs appear longer and thinner. Long and narrow heels are the best choice.
