- 1). Blot up as much of the ink stain as possible with towels that you don't mind staining. Try to blot up the stain as quickly as possible.
- 2). Apply a small amount of rubbing alcohol to a clean cloth and blot the ink stain. Dab at the spot but do not rub, as this may force the ink further into the carpet. Allow to dry. Repeat until the ink stain is gone.
- 3). Dab the ink stain with a clean, damp cloth if ink remains on the carpet. Pour a small amount of nail polish remover to a clean cloth and blot the stain.
- 4). Apply some plain white toothpaste to the stain if there is still ink in the carpet. Let the toothpaste dry and then vacuum up.
- 5). Create a paste from lemon juice and salt if the carpet is white, as the lemon juice will create a bleaching action. Apply the paste to the stain and allow it to dry. Vacuum the area once dry.
