- 1). After peeling off the sticker, press it gently against the sticky stain and pull off the sticker again. This causes the adhesive to transfer onto the back of the sticker.
- 2). Moisten a cotton ball with water and dab it onto the sticky stain, applying a small amount of water.
- 3). Allow the water to sit on the stain for 10 minutes to soften the sticky residue. Scrape off the sticky residue with your fingernail.
- 4). Inspect the surface for remaining stains. If residue remains, apply a dab of cooking oil to your finger.
- 5). Rub your finger over the sticky stain until the residue is completely removed. The cooking oil will dissolve the adhesive residue.
