- 1). Set up a motion detection sprinkler system near the home. When the skunk emerges from under the house to forage for food, it will be hit with water from the sprinkler. This will scare the skunk away from your home.
- 2). Point a flood light at the hole the skunk has burrowed beneath your home. Once the skunk emerges at night, the light will frighten it and it will run away. Keep the flood light on at night for several days to ensure the skunk does not return.
- 3). Spray pepper spray or sprinkle pepper around the skunk's hole and into the hole. Perform this procedure in the daytime while the skunk is sleeping to ensure that it does not attempt to spray you.
- 4). Place mud, twigs and leaves into the skunk's hole. To attempt this, watch the area around the skunk's hole for the skunk. Once the animal has exited, fill the hole with the mud and leaves.
