- 1). Pour one gallon of water into a bucket.
- 2). Add one ounce of chlorine bleach. This creates a 1:100 ratio that is highly unlikely to damage surfaces and has very little chlorine fumes, but that can still disinfect.
- 3). Pour the contents of the bucket carefully it a spray bottle.
- 4). Use the spray bottle to mist the bleach solution onto the surface to clean or disinfect. The mist will limit damage, as opposed to just pouring the bleach solution onto the surface.
- 5). Let the bleach solution sit on the surface for only a few minutes. Then, rinse with a wet cloth to remove the bleach residue.
